History
Austria has hosted 19 World Championship races, the first in 1964 at
Zeltweg, followed by 18 continuous years at the Osterreichring. The latter
lost its major events after the 1987 Grand Prix. Since then the Osterreichring
has been transformed into the A-1 Ring at a cost of around £17.5million.
An interesting circuit with both slow and fast corners and several long
straights to make for interesting action.
